Ronnie Brewer led Utah with 22 points, while usual reserve Channing Frye topped six Blazers in double digits with 17 points.
SCOOBY-DOO BOOBOO: Those who got a close-up view of Carlos Boozer's face noticed a peculiar sight beneath his eye: a Scooby-Doo bandage covering a small cut that happened in practice earlier this week.
Turns out, Boozer has somebody who helps him dress his wounds, at least.
"My little man, Carmani, picked out my Band-Aid," Boozer said. "He picked out Scooby Doo tonight, so that's what I was rockin'." No word on how many Scooby Snacks Boozer earned for his 16-point, 15-rebound game.
MISC.: Chicago on Thursday waived former Jazz forward Roger Powell, one of Deron Williams' ex-teammates at the University of Illinois, and former Jazz big man Michael Ruffin, who missed all of the preseason due to a sprained ankle. According to the Chicago Tribune, however, the Bulls plan to re-sign Ruffin if he clears waivers. ... Earlier this week, the Milwaukee Bucks waived Kevin Kruger the point guard last season for the NBA Development League's Jazz-affiliated Utah Flash.
