L. Douglas Smoot, former LDS Church Area Seventy and Brigham Young University professor, was honored Friday by the Mormon Historic Sites Foundation at the Junius F. Wells Award banquet for his contributions toward the preservation of the Brigham Young Academy Building, now home to the Provo City Library.
