PROVO With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center is offering free clinical breast exams on Thursday.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and early detection is the best prevention for women. The exams, at the Merrill Gappmayer Family Medicine Center at 475 W. 940 North, will be conducted by qualified physicians from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. by appointment.
Women should call 801-357-7930 today to schedule a visit.
The screening is open to women of all ages regardless of income or insurance coverage. Women between the ages of 40 and 65 with a household income of less than 250 percent of the national poverty level will receive a voucher from the Utah County Health Department for a free mammogram after the screening.
