Weber State football: Eteuati earns Big Sky award, Wildcats climb in weekly polls
Returner/wide receiver Bryant Eteuati is the special teams player of the week in the Big Sky Conference.
Eteuati, a 5-foot-7, 160-pound senior from Layton, finished with 187 all-purpose yards in Weber State's 17-10 win over Northern Colorado.
Eteuati had 79 yards on punt returns, including a 36-yarder. He also had 16 yards on a kick return. Eteuati caught five passes for 79 yards, and had one rush for 18 yards. Eteuati also recovered Northern Colorado's late-game, on-sides kick, allowing the Wildcats to run out the clock.
The Big Sky also picked Montana quarterback Cole Bergquist is the offensive player of the week and Northern Colorado linebacker Cristian Sarmento and Eastern Washington cornerback Ryan Kelley as defensive co-players of the week.
WILDCATS MOVE UP: Weber State inched up in both The Sports Network poll (writers and SIDs) and the NCAA Division I FCS Coaches poll, which were released on Monday.
The Wildcats moved from 18th to 16th in the Sports Network poll and from 20th to 17th in the coaches poll. Northern Arizona, Weber State's opponent on Saturday in Flagstaff, Ariz., is 15th in both polls.
Montana, a team WSU beat 45-28 earlier this season, is eighth in The Sports Network poll and fifth in the coaches poll.
