PROVO Abdoulaye Diop, Malian ambassador to the United States, will speak at an Ambassadorial Insights Lecture at Brigham Young University Friday at noon in the Kennedy Center Conference room (238 Herald R. Clark Building.)
Diop is a career diplomat, having previously acted as an advisor to President Alpha Oumar Konare and President Amadou Toumani Toure.
He oversaw Mali's participation in the U.N. Security Council in 2000 and 2001. He was also a participant in the creation of the African Union in which Mali played an active role.
