EPHRAIM — No. 2-ranked Snow Collegehad no trouble in a 71-0 victory over Pima Community College on Saturday afternoon.

Snow's defense not only held Pima scoreless, but also scored twice off of interceptions, both by cornerback Jordan Brown, and created a fumble that set up another Badger touchdown.

Brown, a sophomore from Box Elder High, picked off an Aztec pass and returned it 49 yards to give the Badgers a 48-0 lead midway through the third quarter. He then returned another interception 98 yards for a score late in the third, eliminating Pima's only real scoring threat.

"You can tell our defense came out to play," said coach Steve Coburn. "We dominated and did not let up from start to finish."

Along with the three turnovers, Snow recorded five sacks and held Pima to minus 34 yards in the contest.

The Badgers' offense put on a balanced attack, racking up 174 yards on the ground and 211 yards in the air. Snow starting quarterback Quinn Mecham (Timpview High) threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns and backup Scott Pickering (Springville High) connected on his only two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown.

BJ McKenzie led the Badger running attack with eight carries for 53 yards, while Mecham, receiver Regan Buck and running back Justin Torfin each scored on the ground.

The Badger offense averaged nearly 6 yards a play in the game, while holding Pima to 1.2 yards per play.

Snow increased its season record to 8-0 heading into its bye week. Snow next faces No. 18 Eastern Arizona in Thatcher Nov. 1.
