OREM — A Wal-Mart employee earned a trip to Utah County Jail early Friday morning for cutting her friends and family some sweet, albeit illegal, discounts over the last three months, police said.

According to police reports, the 21-year-old employee at the Wal-Mart on 1355 S. Sandhill Dr., had taken about $3,890 and gave family friends and co-workers discounts and price overrides.

Police said she told them she had also taken items without paying for them.

She was booked into Utah County Jail early Friday morning for investigation of third-degree felony theft. Bail was set at $4,000.
