In 2A North, Juab can make things easy by defeating North Summit. Barring upsets, the seeding would then be Juab, Manti, North Summit, South Summit, Gunnison and ALA. If the Braves win, Juab, North Summit and Manti — barring an upset to Gunnison — would tie for the region title.

In 2A South, San Juan hosts South Sevier for the region title — SS would have to win to share the crown, but if the Broncos win, there'd likely be a three-way tie for second between Millard, Richfield and South Sevier and a coin flip would determine seeding. Beaver and Grand are likely fifth and sixth seeds, respectively.

UNDER THE RADAR: In a largely unnoticed feat, Parowan's Cody Bradley boomed a 60-yard field goal last Friday in the Rams' 31-14 win at Monticello. It's only the third field goal of at least 60 yards in a Utah prep game. It would have tied the record set in 1970 by Judge's Ross Caputo had Bingham's Justin Sorensen not kicked a 62-yard field goal just over a year ago, on Sept. 7, 2007.

UNDEFEATED SEASONS: Have to make mention of Timpview's opportunity to tie the state's longest unbeaten streak, 31 games, if the T-birds defeat Springville.

Story continues below
With a win over North Summit, Juab will be 9-0 for the first time since starting 12-0 in 2005. A victory would also give the Wasps their third undefeated regular season (1995 and '97 were the others). Juab is already guaranteed a share of the 2A North region championship — its sixth overall and third in four years.

A San Juan win over South Sevier would give SJ its fourth undefeated regular season and first since 2005. The Broncos can do no worse than share 13th region title, its first since 2005; a victory would win the title outright. A South Sevier win would give the Rams their sixth region title and first since 2000.

OK, North Sevier isn't unbeaten, but if the Wolves can beat Kanab, or win at least one playoff game, they'll have their first winning season since 2000.

MOST-PLAYED RIVALRIES: Park City battles Wasatch for the 78th time; PC leads 40-34-3 and has won five straight in the series.

American Fork faces Pleasant Grove in their 74th meeting; AF leads 47-24-2.

Cedar and Hurricane meet for the 58th time; Cedar leads the series 42-12-3 and has won six of the last seven.

Spanish Fork and Lehi clash for the 54th time; SF leads 32-20-1.

OTHER GAMES: East has won five straight over Cyprus and Cottonwood has a five-game streak going against Granger.
