Presidential debate (7 p.m., Channels, 2, 4, 5, 7, BBC America, CNN, C-SPAN, Current, FNC, MSNBC): The third and final meeting between candidates Barack Obama and John McCain.
CBS's Bob Schieffer is the host, and the bar has been set low. Schieffer would have to work hard to do a worse job than NBC's Tom Brokaw did as moderator of the last debate.
NBA preseason (7 p.m., Ch. 14): Jazz at Nuggets
The New Adventures of Old Christine (9 p.m., Ch. 2): In order to help Ritchie get into the reptile club, Christine starts dating a reptile expert.
Pushing Daisies (9 p.m., Ch. 4): Olive is convinced that her best friend in the nunnery didn't kill herself that she was murdered. And Chuck, Ned and Emerson go undercover to prove it.
Gary Unmarried (9:30 p.m., Ch. 2): Gary blackmails his ex-wife in order to get his pool table back. Gee, isn't divorce just hilarious?
South Park (11 p.m., Comedy Central): Wendy threatens to beat up Cartman. (Rated TV-MA)
Chocolate News (11:30 p.m., Comedy Central): David Alan Grier is at the center of this sketch-comedy show that focuses on African-Americans. It's wildly uneven some of it's funny, some of it just lies there and dies. And it's wildly politically incorrect. If you like Grier and you miss In Living Color, this will appeal to you. Otherwise ... it's an iffy proposition at best.
