TAYLORSVILLE — Fire destroyed a mobile home and killed a cat that was inside Friday night, but the homeowner managed to get out.

Firefighters were called at about 10:45 p.m. and once there found that the fire was "fully involved," according to Wade Russell, spokesman for the Unified Fire Authority.

"The one occupant who lives in the home got out safely," Russell said. "Our crews treated two people for minor smoke inhalation, and they were not transported to the hospital. There was one cat inside the mobile home that ended up dying."

Russell said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
