Despite the tremendous atmosphere and obvious buildup to the match, history says a win isn't always given. In the previous six inaugural matches, the home team won three times, lost once and tied twice. Add another tie to the list after after RSL and New York finished even at 1-1.

MOVING UP THE CHART: Real Salt Lake keeper Nick Rimando started his 200th career MLS match on Thursday, making him the sixth keeper in MLS history to start that many matches.

The previous goalkeepers to make at least 200 appearances in goal are: Kevin Hartman, Tony Meola, Scott Garlick, Zach Thornton and Joe Cannon. Of the other five, Hartman, Thornton and Cannon are still active goalies in the league.
