ST. GEORGE A plea deal may be in the works for an ex-Hurricane police officer accused of sexually assaulting a woman.
Nathan Amosa, 25, was scheduled to appear in 5th District Court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. Court records indicate the hearing was delayed because Washington County prosecutors said a resolution may be forthcoming.
Amosa is charged with forcible sodomy, a first-degree felony; and two counts of second-degree felony forcible sex abuse. Police said in charging documents that Amosa was on-duty responding to a call and coerced a woman to performing a sex act on him. The woman told police she felt she had to comply because was "in uniform and had a gun."
A hearing has been scheduled in the case on Nov. 5.
