WEST VALLEY CITY Two men who police believe are responsible for nine business robberies over the past several months, mostly of tanning salons, were arrested Tuesday night.
A man wearing gloves and a ski mask walked into Sun Your Bunz, near 5640 W. 4100 South, about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said. The man told the clerk and a customer he had a gun and ordered them to lie on the floor, Johnson said.
The cashier opened the till and got down on the floor while the man went through the register, police said.
About five minutes after the robbery, officers spotted a vehicle, near 3200 West and 4100 South, that matched the one the suspects were seen driving and arrested two individuals for investigation of the robberies, Johnson said.
Detectives also believe the two men were responsible for three other robberies in West Valley as well as a few in Taylorsville and Murray. In each of the robberies, the men either said they had a weapon or displayed at least a part of it, according to police.
Anthony Sorensen, 21, and Souri Keochaleune, 20, were each booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of nine counts of felony robbery.
