AirTran to offer service to Cancun from BWI and Atlanta for spring break

LINTHICUM, Md. — Just in time for spring break, AirTran plans to offer new flights to Cancun, with roundtrip nonstops from both BWI and Atlanta.

The AirTran planes will fly out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

AirTran will also offer connecting service from 55 cities, including to Atlanta from Orlando, Fla., Columbus, Ohio, and Philadelphia, and to BWI from Boston, Milwaukee, Wis., and Burlington, Vt.

The flights will depart daily from Atlanta at 10 a.m. and from Cancun at 12:15 p.m., beginning Feb. 25, subject to government approval.

On weekends beginning March 7, flights will depart BWI at 11:35 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, with return flights from Cancun departing at 2:45 p.m. (No service is scheduled for March 8.)

Tickets can be purchased from www.airtran.com. Fares start at $149 one-way.
