1. Timpview (6-0) Class: 4A

Was: 1. Points: 346. Last week: Beat Tooele, 40-7.

Outlook: Now that T-Birds have set the state record for consecutive wins, this question looms — will anybody beat them in 4A this year? Next up: at Orem, Thursday.

2. Alta (6-1) Class: 5A

Was: 2. Points: 335. Last week: Beat Brighton, 45-0.

Outlook: It wasn't long ago that the Brighton-Alta football rivalry was must-see theatre, but the Hawks simply throttle their rival these days. Next up: vs. Hillcrest, Friday.

3. Cottonwood (7-0) Class: 4A

Was: 3. Points: 326. Last week: Beat Highland, 32-21.

Outlook: The Reg. 6 championship will be on the line when East rides into town this weekend. Next up: vs. East, Friday.

4. Layton (6-1) Class: 5A

Was: 4. Points: 307. Last week: Beat Clearfield, 34-0.

Outlook: Can the Lancers continue to take care of business with surprising Syracuse on tap this week? Next up: vs. Syracuse, Friday.

5. Bingham (5-2) Class: 5A

Was: 6. Points: 290. Last week: Beat Kearns, 42-10.

Outlook: Miners are looking scarier and scarier by the week. Next up: at Riverton, Friday.

6. Pleasant Grove (6-1) Class: 5A

Was: 8. Points: 271. Last week: Beat Lone Peak, 24-21.

Outlook: Coming off such an emotional win, Vikes need to make sure they don't look past an underrated Spanish Fork bunch. Next up: at Spanish Fork, Friday.

7. East (6-1) Class: 4A

Was: 9. Points: 249. Last week: Beat Olympus, 38-15.

Outlook: East will be an underdog this week, but can the Leopards defy expectations like they've done several times already this year? Next up: at Cottonwood, Friday.

8. Mountain Crest (6-1) Class: 4A

Was: 10. Points: 237. Last week: Beat Box Elder, 49-0.

Outlook: Mustangs have a week off before next week's Cache Valley showdown. Next up: at Sky View, Oct. 15.

9. Sky View (6-1) Class: 4A

Was: 5. Points: 236. Last week Lost to Highland, Idaho, 27-21.

Outlook: Highland of Idaho isn't half bad, but you wouldn't really have foreseen Sky View tripping up against those guys. Next up: at Bountiful, Friday.

10. Pine View (6-1) Class: 4A

Was: 11. Points: 214. Last week: Beat Cedar, 50-16.

Outlook: Now the real fun begins as Pine View squares off with its two St. George rivals in the next two weeks. Next up: at Dixie, Friday.

11. Logan (6-1) Class: 3A

Was: 13. Points: 201. Last week: Beat Ogden, 60-39.
