If you love the fabric — then it is a good choice. If you don't love the fabrics you are working with, it won't be as fun!

—Brenda Bailey

As you work on your quilt, keep in mind that you know more than you know. You may not have gone to art school, but you've been looking at color, design and balance since you were old enough to notice. You just may not have the art words for the concepts. Trust your gut feelings.

—Sandy Bonsib

Choosing fabric is often very difficult. I suggest that you don't agonize too much over the choices. Just jump right in, take a few fabrics that you like and put them together, then stand well back and see if you like the arrangement.

—Kate McEwen

Relax about choosing your fabrics. It's better to enjoy making the quilt and learn how to make the next one better than to spend a week worrying about whether you made the right fabric choice.
