"Every year I hear rumors about me trading, about me going back to Russia, about me building a new house somewhere up in the hills," he said. "I'm just not paying attention."
Nor will he play professionally in Russia for at least the next three years while under contract with the Jazz, either.
MORE SHOOTING SESSIONS: Kirilenko said he will again work individually on his shooting this year with retired Jazz shooting guard Jeff Hornacek, who lives in the Phoenix area but spent last season as a special part-time assistant with the franchise. Hornacek was a finalist in the offseason for coaching vacancies in Phoenix and Chicago, but did not land a position in either locale.
FREEBIE FOR FANS: Following four days of training camp in Boise, the Jazz will return to EnergySolutions Arena for an open-to-the-public intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at 3:45 p.m. No tickets will be necessary for the free scrimmage. Doors will be opened at 3:30 p.m. Because LDS General Conference will be going on simultaneously, the Jazz encourage fans to ride TRAX to avoid parking hassles.
