Real Salt Lake is expected to announce at a press conference this morning that it has partnered with the Rio Tinto Group for naming rights at its brand-new 20,000-seat stadium in Sandy.
RSL has called a press conference at 10:15 a.m. today inside RSL Stadium, at which time owner Dave Checketts will be joined by Utah Speaker of the House Greg Curtis, RSL president Bill Manning, the entire RSL team and unnamed "other special guests."
The fourth-year franchise will open its new state-of-the-art soccer venue with a pair of home games next month. RSL will host New York on Oct. 9th and FC Dallas on Oct. 18th.
Rio Tinto is the parent company of Kennecott Utah Copper and is the primary developer of the Daybreak property in South Jordan.
