Edward Reichel's criticism of Keith Lockhart makes me wonder if he is after the conductor's position. I do not appreciate Reichel's advocacy for elitist interpretations of musical compositions. I had the privilege to attend the Utah Symphony's performance of Beethoven's 9th. It touched my soul. It was very well received by those in attendance. The standing ovation was sincere. I, for one, will miss Lockhart's conducting talent. He has contributed to make the Utah Symphony a very well-respected orchestra nationally and worldwide.
