Wasatch Public Media said Wednesday that it has completed the purchase of radio station KCPW 88.3 and 105.3 FM from Community Wireless of Park City for $2.4 million.

KCPW is a Salt Lake City-based radio station that broadcasts programming from National Public Radio, Public Radio International, American Public Media, the British Broadcasting Corporation and local news.

In March, Community Wireless and Wasatch Public Media had entered into an agreement to sell KCPW-FM to Wasatch Public Media. The trustees of Community Wireless voted unanimously to approve the sale.

Wasatch Public Media said in a news release Wednesday that it is committed to maintaining KCPW's existing format of local and national news.
