The Utah State Health Insurance Assistance Program is to receive a $6,000 achievement award from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for outstanding performance in serving Medicare beneficiaries.
"We are pleased with the work of the assistance program, which serves as a key Medicare partner providing beneficiaries with the personalized information they need to make important health-care decisions," CMS acting administrator Kerry Weems said in a news release.
Health insurance assistance provides Medicare beneficiaries counseling and benefits information at the state and local level.
A total of $1.5 million will be awarded to similar programs nationwide.
