Utah Humanities Council to present awards

The Utah Humanities Council will present its 20th annual Human Ties Award at the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts, 138 W. Broadway, on Saturday at 6 p.m.

This year's award winners are:

• The Right Rev. Carolyn Tanner Irish — Governor's Award in the Humanities.

• Kent Murdock and the O.C. Tanner Co. — Friends of the Humanities Award.

• University of Utah Tanner Humanities Center — Humanities Partnership Award.

• Ogden Valley Branch Library — Human Ties Award.

• Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society — Human Ties Award.

• Alliance for the Varied Arts — Human Ties Award.
