The host Lone Peak Knights didn't have any trouble with any of their competition as they won all three of their matches in straight games. Pleasant Grove had to battle a little harder against that same pesky Hunter group as the Vikings finally pulled out the second game 30-28 to pull off their own sweep of their three matches at the tournament.
At the Lehi site, five matches went the distance, including two with the host Pioneers, who lost to Fremont 15-13 in the third and defeated Hurricane 15-12 in a tough third game. Fremont also had to go to three games to take out Hurricane 15-10 and go undefeated in the tournament so far.
The other team to take out all three of its opponents was the Brighton Bengals, who found themselves in big trouble against Snow Canyon, finally pulling it out 16-14 in the third. They also needed three games to defeat North Sanpete, but finished their pool play as the fourth undefeated team in the tournament. The top two teams in each pool will find themselves playing at Lone Peak today, while the third and fourth place teams will continue pool play at Lehi.
