FOOTBALL: No. 4-ranked Snow College overcame several key injuries to beat No. 21 Mesa on the road Saturday.

The Badgers' offense scored all 24 of its points in the first half, taking a 24-5 lead and relied heavily on the defense in the end to secure the preseason win over the Western States Football League rival.

The play of the game was provided by defensive back Jordan Brown, who picked off a Mesa pass in the end zone to end a drive that could have given Mesa the lead. Brown, a sophomore, played his high school football at Box Elder in Brigham City.

"We have so many players on this team that can step up and make the big play," said head coach Steve Coburn. "Tonight, it was Jordan."
