Was: -. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: New coach, a couple new players and Danika Mendivil back from an ACL tear. This team should be tough.

2. Lone Peak (2-0) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The Knights return experience and talent and showed they're again contenders with a sweep of Brighton.

3. Brighton (1-1) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: 0-1. Outlook: The Bengals return experienced and athletic players eager to compete for region and state titles.

4. Layton (8-0) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: DNP. Outlook: Under the guidance of a new coach, the Lancers won the Skyline Tournament.

5. Davis (7-1) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: DNP. Outlook: The Darts should make the Region 1 race very interesting.

6. Viewmont (0-0) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: DNP. Outlook: Led by talented outside hitter Fiona Jones, the Vikings will make the 5A race very competitive.

7. Cottonwood (6-0) Class: 4A

Was: -. Last week: 5-0. Outlook: The Colts may be young, but they won the Bingham Tournament this weekend to prove they're seriously good.

8. Taylorsville (16-4) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: 7-1. Outlook: The Warriors return key seniors and add talented youngsters to make for a dangerous combination.

9. Morgan (1-1) Class: 3A

Was: -. Last week: DNP. Outlook: The Trojans lost early to Pleasant Grove, but they will be in the hunt for the 3A title again.

10. Hurricane (11-1) Class: 3A

Was: -. Last week: 3-0. Outlook: The Tigers couldn't have had a better start to a promising season.

11. Dixie (5-3) Class: 4A

Was: -. Last week: DNP. Outlook: The Flyers have the talent to earn another chance at that 4A title match.

12. Snow Canyon (1-0) Class: 4A

Was: -. Last week: DNP. Outlook: The Warriors are young, but if they find the right chemistry they will be one of the most dangerous squads.

13. Alta (3-0) Class: 5A

Was: -. Last week: 1-0. Outlook: The addition of junior Kenzie Mitchell will help make the Hawks contenders in both region and state.

14. Sky View (5-3) Class: 4A

Was:-. Last week: DNP. Outlook: Talented squad has already had some impressive wins, but also a couple of surprising losses.
