Samuelsons to speak at Y.

PROVO — Brigham Young University President Cecil O. Samuelson and his wife Sharon will address the campus community during their regular back-to-school devotional Tuesday at 11:05 a.m. in the Marriott Center.

Samuelson is BYU's 12th president, appointed in 2003. He is a member of the LDS Church's Quorum of the Seventy . Professionally, Samuelson was the senior vice president of Intermountain Healthcare and dean of the School of Medicine at the University of Utah. Along with many scholastic honors, he is the author or co-author of 48 original publications.

Sharon Giauque Samuelson graduated from the University of Utah with honors in history. During the early years of their marriage, she received her teaching certification and taught school. She has held leadership positions in all of the auxiliary organizations of the LDS Church while being active in the community and working as a full-time homemaker and mother.
