Raser Technologies Inc. said that it has boosted its Utah-leased properties by about 32,700 acres.
The Provo-based company, involved in geothermal electric power-plant development, said this past week that the 17 new lease agreements in central Utah brings the company's total Utah holdings to more than 150,000 acres.
Financial terms of the leases were not disclosed, but Raser has the rights to the geothermal resources and certain surface rights for the construction of geothermal wells, piping, power plants and transmission lines.
Raser also said it has begun the construction phase for the development of its Lightning Dock project, which is expected to be the first commercial-scale geothermal power plant in New Mexico.
