A man pulled from a Salt Lake motel swimming pool was transported to a hospital in critical condition Friday afternoon after medics revived him on the scene.

Salt Lake Police Lt. James Tracy said guests at the downtown Motel 6 saw a man who was not moving at the bottom of the pool and pulled him out shortly before 2 p.m. One of the guests notified hotel management who called 911.

Tracy said the man was not breathing when paramedics arrived, but they were able to revive him before he was transported to the University Hospital in critical condition.

Tracy said hotel employees told police that they had seen the man earlier in the day "acting extremely intoxicated." Police have not identified the victim, but believe he lives in Salt Lake.
