1. New England

Record: 11-6-4. Was: 1. Note: The Revs are tied for the best record in the league and continue to impress. Next: vs. Los Angeles, Saturday.

2. Columbus

Record: 11-6-4. Was: 6. Note: The Crew dismantled Real Salt Lake and Schelotto is the top assist man in MLS. Next: at Dallas, Saturday.

3. Houston

Record: 8-5-8. Was: 2. Note: Even a disheartening loss at N.Y. doesn't mean this isn't one of the teams to beat. Next: vs. Chicago, Sunday.

4. D.C. United

Record: 10-10-1. Was: 3. Note: It is feast or famine with this squad. Only one draw seems outrageous. Next: vs. New York, Saturday.

5. Real Salt Lake

Record: 7-8-6. Was: 4. Note: Still unbeaten at home ... But still can't win big games on the road. Next: vs. Colorado, Friday.

6. FC Dallas

Record: 6-7-8. Was: 7. Note: Perhaps no team is reaching quite like this one. Trading for Jeff Cunningham? Next: vs. Columbus, Saturday.

7. Chicago

Record: 10-6-5. Was: 5. Note: Perhaps record is better than actual squad. Then again, perhaps not. Next: at Houston, Sunday.

8. New York

Record: 8-6-7. Was: 14. Note: This team may have gotten better by subtraction, but a good win over Houston helps. Next: at D.C. United, Saturday.

9. Toronto

Record: 7-9-5. Was: 11. Note: Even the expansion club drew tired of Cunningham's antics. Next: at Chivas USA, Saturday.

10.Colorado

Record: 7-11-3. Was: 13. Note: Just a hunch that a coaching change was what this club needed. Next: at Real Salt Lake, Friday.

11.Los Angeles

Record: 6-9-6. Was: 10. Note: Bruce Arena now has total power over the Galaxy. Expect results. Next: at New England, Saturday.

12. Chivas

Record: 6-9-6. Was: 8. Note: No team has had the injury plague quite as bad as the Goats lately. Next: vs. Toronto, Saturday.

13. Kansas City

Record: 6-7-8. Was: 9. Note: The Wizards have won just once in their last six matches, and are struggling to score. Next: at San Jose, Saturday.

14. San Jose

Record: 5-9-7. Was: 12. Note: The Quakes are still working to find an identity. Not an easy thing for an expansion team. Next: vs. Kansas City, Saturday.
