Alzheimer's Association The Salt Lake Memory Walk is looking for volunteers to help organize the Sept. 6 event. A variety of opportunities are available. Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association Utah Chapter. Join the walk and help make a difference.
Golden Games Volunteers are needed for Golden Games Senior Olympic Day Sept. 5 at the South Towne Expo Center. Volunteers needed 8 a.m. to noon, or 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Annual Recovery Day Fifty volunteers are needed to help with the Recovery Day event Sept. 20 at the Gallivan Center. Event begins at 6:30 a.m. with setup and 5K run.
KUED Volunteers are needed to help stuff packets for the Caring for Your Parents resource guide. Stuff and label packets, make calls to confirm address and perform data entry.
Lincoln Elementary School Volunteers are needed to help students with reading and math in a fourth-grade classroom. Volunteers must be at least 18 and need to commit to 45 minutes to an hour once a week.
Jewish Family Services Volunteers are needed to run a monthly book group for seniors in the Sugar House area. Art teachers also are needed to help seniors learn how to draw, use watercolors or acrylics.
Primary Children's Medical Center Volunteers are needed in many areas of the hospital including the information desk, gift shop and foundation office. Bilingual speakers are encouraged to apply, all shifts available. Good interpersonal skills needed. E-mail PCMCVolunteers@imail.org.
American Diabetes Association Have a great time and help the association with the "Step out to Fight Diabetes" walk, Sept. 27 at Hogle Zoo. Four hours of service are requested. Food, zoo admission and a volunteer T-shirt are provided.
Head Start Volunteers are needed to help with the yearly family fun fest. They will help with inflatable recreation toys, play games with children, work in a reading booth, help in the health clinic, and set up and take down for the event.
Utah Museum of Fine Arts The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is currently recruiting for fall docent training programs. Weekend and weekday shifts are available. Applications are due in September, and training begins the first week of October.
