BEIJING Spain earned a men's basketball rematch with the United States in Sunday's gold-medal game after outdistancing Lithuania 91-86 in Friday night's early semifinal.
Pau Gasol scored 19 points as Spain outscored Lithuania 42-24 in the paint as the Spaniards' inside strength forced four Lithuanian forwards to foul out in the final quarter.
Spain was without starting guard Jose Calderon (torn thigh muscle), who also miss Sunday's game. Injuries limited Juan Carlos Navarro's minutes as well.
Sarunas Jasikevicius and Simas Jasaitis both scored 19 for Lithuania, which will play Argentina in Sunday's gold-medal game.
