Wreckage from a small plane crash near Moab which killed possible eight people on Friday night.

MOAB At least three people are confirmed dead following the crash of a twin-engine airplane southwest of the Canyonlands Airport outside of Moab, the Grand County Sheriff's Office reported.
Grand County dispatch received a call just before 6 p.m. Friday reporting a fire in an area about two miles south and one mile west of the airport. Responders arrived to find a plane engulfed in flames. They were unable to obtain identification numbers from the aircraft and have not yet determined ownership.
The sheriff's office reports they believe the aircraft was headed southeast and that there may be more fatalities.
