BYU says it has no responsibility regarding the students' housing situations. I disagree. The fact that BYU requires its students to live in approved housing is what created this situation in the first place. Apartment managers know that no matter how badly they treat their tenants, they can't lose them. And if they do, they will always have more. Sure, students read their housing contracts. And then they sign them, because they know there isn't anything else. If you don't have friends or family in the area, you're still not going to have anywhere to go at the end of the contract.
