High school golf: Lone Peak leads way in Region 4
In the first match held at Glenmoor Golf Course, the Dons won top honors by two strokes over the Knights behind the stellar play of two-time league medalist Garrett Moss, who fired a 4-under 68. The Dons also got contributions from Elliot Naulu (75), Kris Cook (77), Greg Money (78) and Layne Teuscher (79). Lone Peak countered with Joe Parkinson at 72, Garrett Fotu at 74, Jory Bowers 77 and Alex Stulce and Braxton Barker at 78. Matt Hemple from Lehi shot 73, Jake Burningham from American Fork shot 75 and Josh Ostler from Timpanogos shot 75.
In Match 2, held at River Oaks Golf Course, American Fork took team honors but Lone Peak was close behind and passed Spanish Fork in the standings with the second-place finish. The Cavemen's Jaxon Taylor's was medalist with a 68, while teammates Jake Burningham and Nathan Bray shot 71 and 72 respectively. Lone Peak's Parkinson shot another 72, while fellow Knights Alex Stulce and Braxton Baker posted 74 each. The league's next match is Thursday at Cedar Hills.
