PROVO — A woman who lost her shoes and spent the night in Slate Canyon was rescued Wednesday evening.

Police were called around 7 p.m. when some hikers came across the 21-year-old woman who was sunburned and dehydrated from a night on the mountain, according to a statement from the Provo Fire Department.

The hikers began helping the woman down the mountain and were met by members of the Provo Mountain Rescue team. She brought off the mountain around 8:15 p.m. and taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, officials said. Her injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
