First down: The Utes completed their final live work before the Aug. 30 season-opener at Michigan with a 60-play situational scrimmage at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The scrimmage also included a lot of special-teams work.

Head-turner: Utah coach Kyle Whittingham said the scrimmage was real positive. He was extremely pleased with the offense, particularly the second unit, for moving the ball and executing.

Injury report: Kicker/punter Louie Sakoda has an insect bite on his leg and was held out of the scrimmage for precautionary reasons. Wide receiver Brent Casteel was held out with a thigh bruise.
