SANDY — Kolton Yager, a fifth-grader at Challenger School in Sandy, is a winner in a national essay contest on the American Revolution.

"I Spy — Espionage during the American Revolution" was the topic of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution American History Essay contest. Yager based part of his essay on letters written by an actual spy during the war.

He and three other top winners received a trip to Washington, D.C., with their parents in July.
