The ninth annual Enrichment Day at Hogle Zoo, 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave., will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
One of the most important jobs at Hogle Zoo is keeping the animals healthy and happy. Each day, the Zoo animal-care staff plans out a schedule of ways to keep animals mentally stimulated. Now the public can find out more on this subject and how to keep their own animals mentally exercised.
On Enrichment Day, visitors will explore six different areas that highlight five different types of enrichment, which also applies to pets at home. The activities include trying to paint like an elephant and a trivia scavenger hunt.
Also available will be information on at-home enrichment for pets like dogs, cats and reptiles-including information on how exotic animal training works for our own furry friends and even recipes for homemade doggie treats.
