BEIJING — Throwing for Sweden, Nik Arrhenius failed to advance from Saturday morning's discus competition at the Beijing Olympics.

The former NCAA champion from BYU and state champion from Orem's Mountain View High has dual citizenship and was named to the Swedish National Team this summer.

He finished 14th in a second of two discus heats with a day's best of 58.22 meters. The Netherlands Rutger Smith won the heat with a 65.65 throw.
