LAS VEGAS A Las Vegas man suspected of fatally shooting a former Olympic boxer who was struggling to jump-start his flagging career was arrested Wednesday near the Nevada-Arizona border, police said.
Arizona troopers arrested Roger Randolph, 26, during a traffic stop near Dolan Springs, Ariz. He was being held on fugitive charges in the Mohave County jail.
Rhoshii Wells, 31, died after he was shot twice in the torso Monday outside his apartment complex in a hardscrabble Las Vegas neighborhood. Wells, a middleweight, won the bronze medal in the 165-pound boxing class at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, where he was a member of the U.S. team featuring such fighters as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Fernando Vargas.
