This weekend, like last, motorists traveling through Parleys Canyon on I-80 might have to take one of two lengthy detours to get where they're going.
Got plans taking you through that way? Then you should know eastbound lanes will close at 7 p.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday as crews replace bridges at East Canyon and Lambs Canyon. Westbound lanes will be open throughout construction, but eastbound travel will be suspended until construction is complete.
Possible detours for drivers who must go east over the weekend are U.S. 189 through Provo Canyon or I-84 through Morgan Valley.
People going to the Gladys Knight concert at Deer Valley have been encouraged by UDOT and the Utah Symphony and Opera to be on time. The Utah Highway Patrol will turn back latecomers at the mouth of Parleys Canyon.
