Police say Ogden man arrested for biting off another man's ear

OGDEN — Police say a man bit part of another man's ear off after taking exception to a romantic pass late Wednesday.

Donnie Gaskins, 41, attacked the man near 800 East and 1100 North around 11:30 p.m., said Ogden Police Lt. David Tarran.

"The guy whose ear he bit off was coming on to him sexually," Tarran said. "So he took offense to it. They got in a fight and off goes the ear."

Police said Gaskins was intoxicated and had to be subdued with a Taser.

Gaskins was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of mayhem, assault on a police officer, public intoxication and possession of marijuana.

Police did not immediately know the victim's condition Thursday.
