Friends of Mark and Brenda Seely parents of two children injured Tuesday during a pioneer re-enactment in Sanpete County have set up a fund to help with medical expenses.
Mark Seely said the family doesn't have insurance, as he is a student and works three part-time jobs that don't offer benefits.
Hannah, 9, and Jonathan, 7, were injured when a truck ran into the back of a handcart that was part of a pioneer trek up Fairview Canyon Tuesday morning.
The children's grandfather, Edwin Montell Seely, was killed, as was 13-year-old Hannah Wagstaff, who had been pushing the handcart from behind.
"I think we'll be all right," Seely said. "But when somebody wants to do something special for you, you don't tell them no, I guess."
Donations can be made at any branch of Zions Bank to the Mark and Brenda Seely Donations fund.
