BEIJING The United States had little trouble improving to 2-0 in Group B men's basketball play at the Beijing Games, overwhelming Angola 97-76 Tuesday night at the Olympic Basketball Gymnasium.
For the second straight outing, Dwyane Wade led all U.S. scorers, hitting 6-of-8 shots from the floor for 19 points. In the two games now, Wade is 13-of-15 shooting.
Dwight Howard added 14 points and LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony 12 each.
Deron Williams finished with seven points, four assists and two steals, while Carlos Boozer made 1-of-4 shots for 2 points and added two rebounds as well.
Carlos Morais led Africa champion Angola with 24 points but was the only player on his team in double figures.
