MOOSE, Wyo. (AP) A climber in the Teton Range was killed after he slipped on snow and fell about 800 feet down a mountainside.
Grand Teton National Park officials have identified the victim as 55-year-old Chris Pazder, of Helena, Mont.
The accident happened Saturday afternoon. Park officials say Pazder was crossing the south side of Gilkey Tower when he slipped.
They say Pazder was carrying an ice ax but he was unable to use the ax to stop his slide down the mountain. An approaching thunderstorm delayed the removal of Pazder's body until Sunday.
