First down: The Utes have their initial two-a-day of camp with sessions scheduled for this morning and afternoon at the practice fields. They donned full pads for the first time on Friday and practiced for approximately two hours in a fairly steady rain.
Head-turner: Running back Matt Asiata ran 70 yards for a touchdown on one of 20 live reps the Utes ran on Friday. Head coach Kyle Whittingham said Asiata, wide receiver David Reed, safety Deshawn Richard and defensive lineman Sealver Siliga did some good things today.
Injury report: Cornerback Brice McCain sprained his left ankle on Friday but left the field on his own power after having his shoe taped. He's hoping to participate in practice today.
