Sheriff's officers investigate stabbing homicide in Magna
Molly Robbins died after suffering multiple stab wounds and other physical injuries during a dispute at her home near 7300 West and 4000 South.
Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Paul Jaroscak said the first call about the incident came at about 4:15 p.m. from the victim's minor daughter.
Officers said Robbins was at home when the suspect apparently forced his way into the house and started assaulting her. The daughter was in the house and witnessed the beginning of the assault, then left and went to a neighbor's house to make the first call, Jaroscak said.
About five minutes later, a second call came in to dispatchers from a few blocks away at the suspect's residence, saying he was there. The suspect was arrested without incident in his front yard.
Officers were continuing to search for a weapon at the scene of the incident. They did not immediately release the name of the suspect or his relationship to the victim.
