TOOELE — A wildfire burning in the Stansbury Mountains is closer to being contained.

Firefighters said Wednesday the Little Bald Mountain fire is 75 percent contained and remains at approximately 513 acres. The lightning-caused fire is smoldering in brush and heavy timber, with crews having to deal with steep, rocky terrain to build fire lines.

The fire is threatening some homes but firefighters insist they have strong lines protecting them from the fire, which is 2 miles away. Campgrounds and canyons in the area remain closed.
