First down: The Utes held split sessions for the second consecutive day — rotating players between the practice field and weight room. They'll add shoulder pads today while working through the NCAA's acclimatization period.

Head-turner: New wide receiver David Reed performed well enough for Whittingham to predict that the junior college transfer could be a factor right away. Defensive backs Brandon Burton and Deshawn Richard also had strong showings.

Injury report: Aside from a few muscle strains, none of which have sidelined any player, the Utes are fairly healthy after two days of camp.
