Tongan troops wearing pith helmets march for their newly crowned monarch, King Siaosi (George) Tupou V, during the Coronation Military Parade in Nuku'alofa today. The 60-year-old ruler is attempting to remake his former image as an eccentric bachelor prince with a love of elaborate military uniforms into a sovereign leading Polynesia's last kingdom toward democracy.
